ABOUT US
In a market driven by fast manufacturing and disposable furniture, we choose to build intentionally slow. We build future heritage pieces using traditional interlocking joinery instead of relying on metal screws or nails that tear wood apart over time. By treating every surface exclusively with safe finishes, we guarantee a healthy home environment completely free from toxic synthetic lacquers and VOC off-gassing.

APPROACH
At Emmy Sandt Studio, we believe that real luxury isn't speed, it's care. We build with intention to ensure that the integrity of the craft is never compromised. Our philosophy is rooted in material honesty and long-term sustainability. We work exclusively in solid timber. Because solid wood is inherently durable and infinitely repairable, our creations are not only built to last, but also to evolve beautifully alongside your evolving aesthetic choices.
Each of our studio makers takes on a single project at a time to ensure your piece receives our undivided attention. By focusing on absolutely material honesty and high quality care, we protect long-term structural integrity, health, and financial value of your furniture so that it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

We have to preserve what we have, but also we have to create the heritage of tomorrow.

How We Started
Emmy Sandt Studio began as a solitary pursuit of absolute material honesty, born on a sun-drenched rooftop in Cheung Chau where Emmy hand-finished her very first commissions against the backdrop of the South China Sea.
What started as a one-woman defiance against Hong Kong’s disposable furniture culture has organically matured into an elite, multi-artisan studio of dedicated expert restorers and builders.
Today, our studio of makers still honors that foundational rooftop ethos, operating on a meticulous workflow where every family heirloom or bespoke build receives museum-grade precision and individual workbench devotion.
